week 9 of time class began with watching the film Harish chandrachi factory , we were all told to watch the film and come up back for a discussion.
The film was very interesting, their were great things to learn from the film.
Post watching this film we had a discussion on
We discussed how films changed or how the culture and experience of these films changed over time,
I learnt that there are 2 kind of films , a) commercial films and b)personal or an independent film,
We deconstructed and discussed about the film we watched and the various aspects we liked, the way Dadasaheb phalke’s family was supportive, the way they believed in him and his vision, they supported him until he had to sell all the objects he had at home, from his cupboard to the utensils in his house.
The difficulty they found in hiring female actresses during that time and how males dresses up to be females and acted as female actress
The way he had struggled to get the required material to make a silent moving film
All over it was a great film to watch
