Week 10 of studio class was about completing your first mind map on the main discipline and the supporting disciplines and identifying the various categories and elements in each of them.
Through this mind map process I researched understood more about each discipline as to what goes into this subject , what are the various fields and career options in each of the discipline,

I then started working on my mind map b which was about selecting the final discipline researching about it mentioning the various categories and elements under it and finalizing on one element to work on.
I chose communication design as my main discipline and listed down all the various categories which falls under the same.
Post which I researched deep down into various elements under each category.
Through this process I understood there are so many elements that go under every category , eg: logo design is just not making logos but keeping so many aspects in mind such as colours, illustration, brand meaning, client expectation, purpose, etc.
So through this process I learnt and got a better understanding in each of the discipline and all the categories.
I learnt how diverse each discipline and this research and mind mapping process helped me to choose on the discipline I wanted to select for my second year and gave me a clear picture as t what communication design is all about.
