Sustainable sysytems 9- 5.3.20- Kanika Sharma

Week 9 of sustainable systems class was about are final review of our project called aware citizens

We had groupwise presentation of our issues identified and the solution we have come up with to overcome the solution

Our group was talking about responsible consumption and production, and the problem identified was reduction in consumption and production of plastic containers generated by the food delivery system .

Our solution to it was called RETURNZ , a solution where on every swiggy  and Zomato order you return your previous orders plastic containers and cutlery with redeem in your delivery or packaging charges. Then these plastic containers will be re-cycled and will be sent to the restaurants for a new use , this initiative will reduce and cut down on the new set of plastic containers production.

We presented our entire ppt which explains our case studies, our sources from which we have gathered info , which explains our infographs and presents the advertisements which advertises are solution to the problem identified.

We were  given inputs such that we had not studied the production cycle part and included it so we had to work on that part and add it to our presentation

With this we ended our project called Aware citizens

The second half of the class was about an introduction to our new project, we stated off by discussing what upcycling and re- cycling means we then had a discussion on our views of what we think these terms mean

According to me recycling is recovering a product that has been used and putting it through a process to make it into a new version of the same product

And upcycling means using various different products to make something new, but not the same product again in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.

We were then introduced to an activity which was about materials and making a functional and utility object from it , each one of us were given a material like I was given cement , we will be made into random pairs of 2 where we make an object by combining both of those materials without using any extra or 3 material,  so attaching joining has to be done with the same material but adhesives or  needle and threads.
