Week 2,3 of typography class was about font and type face.
We started by learning that communication can be of 2 main types, communication through images or communication through text.
Communication through text is called textual, typography.
We learnt about a very important difference between fonts and typeface:
TYPEFACE- refers to the design , the way it looks,
FONTS- typeface+ style+ size
Typeface is what you see but font is what you use.
We learnt few important typefaces:
- Serif
- Sans serif
- Slab serif
- Display
- And script
We then discussed as to where these fonts and typefaces are used:
- Invitation
- Casual context
- Informal content
- Brands like perfumes use them
- Quotes
- Personalized messages
- Luxury brands use them.
We discussed about each type face in length and saw where it is used and how does it look.
We then learnt about the brand personality. Brand personality is a set of human characteristics that are attributed to a brand name. A brand personality is something to which the consumer can relate; an effective brand increases its brand equity by having a consistent set of traits that a specific consumer segment enjoys.

Our deliverable for next class was about creating a a text fine art .
