We started the class by understanding what time was and goes in the study of this subject. It was about understanding the subject like an introduction and understanding how the subject is more of a philosophical study of time.
The simplest meaning of time is- time is a unit of measurement. Time is something which can tell us about the past , present and future.
Time is mainly studied in2 main parts the scientific study of time and the philosophical study of time.
We studied what different scientist thought time was-
SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF TIME:
- Time is a unit of measurement the basic scientific study as to what time is.
- Isaac Newton the one who discovered about gravity, found the classic mechanics that space is distinct from body and that time passes uniformly from which it was called absolute time and later relative time.
- Then came Einstein and according to him time is an illusion, its relative it can vary depending on your speed through space and that time flows like a river wave.
We then came to the philosophical study of time
PHILOSOPHICAL:
Where we saw the iconic things or events that had happened in different time period, we touched on various aspects such as the stone age, iron age and a development seen as time passed by, the important events write from the 1500 bc to the battle of Kadesh and many more.
I also learnt about the Sahelanthropus -which are the extinct species of Homininae / homer also known as the African apes.
We touched upon various topics like from the scientific aspects to the historical and philosophical aspect, to understand the major events or changes seen in various time period
According to me the subject time is a very abstract topic as it touches upon various other aspects it gives us context to any fact that has occurred in the past, it also tells us what all events had taken place in which all time periods , and also helps in determining the drastic changes and developments. Time can also be marked as the proof of events occurred .
