I was absent for the 9 th class of mindlines. Here is all what I understood from my classmates ,

We were taught few concepts

Such as principles and elements of design:

The 6 principles of design are-

1. Unity/ harmony with gestalts principles kept in mind
2. Balance which speaks about symmetry, asymmetry and radial
3. Hierarchy which is about the placement styles of the content
4. Scale and proportion which is keeping size, ration and division of  content appropriately according to the sheet
5. Dominane/ emphasis which ijs about highlight of the page, colour scheme and coordination size of elements
6. Similarity and contrast  which is keeping light dark and line concept in mind .

ELEMENTS OF DESIGN:     

1. Line -element which can give  direction to the eyes
2. Shape -includes all 2d shapes , geometric shapes
3. Form -is all about the 3d shapes and 3d effects
4. Colour – element that adds emphasis , makes things visually appealing
5. Value- expresses the hue, saturation tone ,gradient of an image
6. Texture – texture adds on mood and feelings to an object
7. Space- space is the area provided to create content and use it  rightfully

We were also taught and ran through the

Gestalts principle with examples:

1. Gestalts principle of proximity-when different elements are laid out closer to each other, they are perceived to be belonging to the same grp.eg: IBM, Unilever
2. Gestalts principle of closer-it describes the ability of the brain to complete a shape or an object, even when it’s not fully closed.eg: FedEx, Pitsburg zoo and aquarium.
3. Gestalts principle of similarity-objects with shared visuals characteristics are automatically taken to be related. eg: PANDA, SUN.
4. Figure ground relationship- people instinctively  perceive objects  as either being foreground or background.

We were also taught about perspective,

About basic perspective, about how 1 point , 2 point ,3 point line drawing work

How perspective is kept in mind during fashion ,photography.

We were also explained as to how mood boards work how they help in assimilating ideas.

we were also shown and shared a ppt consisting of all the above topics.
