Integrative studio 8-24.9.19- Pooja Kaloy

Week 8 of studio was about an activity based on the continuation of week 8 seminar class.

Based on the place we selected and wrote  personal, cliché and unique things about it , we then  had to pick one thing from each of the categories and illustrate the same in the form of a symbol, or logo of our own .

The catch to this activity was that by just seeing the symbol one should be able to identify the place.

The second half of the class was about the discussion of our next activity which was: in group of 5 we were given a public place in Mumbai itself and we had to go and visit the same.

The merlion symbol denoting the unique aspect of singapore ,the mascot and national personification of singapore.

The birth place symbol, denoting location symbol + a babys cart explaining that singapore was my birth place and is the personal aspect of this place.

The rice and noodles symbol denotingg the thai and asian cuisine food , as Singapore is famous for all kind of asian cuisine food as well as thai food explaining the cliche fact of singapore.

The logo and symbol making activity was fun as well as interesting as I hadn’t done something like this before , also illustrating the characteristic of the place into a symbol needed a lot of unique thinking as the symbol had to be created from scratch and had to be original.
