Week 6 of space and materiality class began with discussions regarding our blogs
CLASS DISCUSSIONS:
Sir gave us reviews about our blogs, he explained us where there was room for improvement.
We got an understanding as to how our blogs need to be structured and detailed.
We then started working further on the abstraction of our hand grips, and were working towards the ideation and abstract modelling.
I first finalized my grip which was me and my brothers signature handshake, and took that further for developing a concept for an abstract model.
We were given a set of questions to work up on for the concept:
- What is the essence of the grip? The grip I have chosen is me and my brother’s signature handshake. It depicts a very strong and a tight grip, it explains the strong bond we share, a bond which is strong ,tight, stiff, unbreakable.
- What materials are you using? I have used clay for my mock model and wood for my final model.
I have used simple geometric shapes to define my grip in an abstract manner.
Week 6 was just the beginning and introduction to the abstract hand grip project.
The set of questions given and my previous week hand grips sketch helped in building up my thoughts and ideas.
