Theme of the book: Isolation, crisis of identity, trauma, financial instability , debts, changing behaviour .

metaphors in the book: 1) imprisonment/ isolation- locked doors , 2) alienation- shifting of furniture , shifting of feelings, 4) footsteps – hope to hopelessness.

self reflection: I felt the story to be very imaginative, something which couldn’t even be possible in the 19 th century , also I felt the end to the story could be a little different and interesting. On the other hand I liked the diction used and how few metaphors are incorporated through which the story revolves and also the deep thought and meaning given to the metaphors incorporated within the story.

The next half of the class was about the assignment given to us called who am I? in which we have to write an essay of 500-600 words in first person, incorporating the metaphors and adjectives that we have selected which descrbes ourselves.
