The third week of seminar class was about the First chapter of metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.

About Franz Kafka: Franz Kafka belonged to a middleclass Jewish family, he was the eldest son of his family, and died early due to tuberculosis. Most of his works were all published by his friend Max Brod
Summary of Ch 1 :Gregor waking up and finding himself to be turned into a vermin > realising that it isn’t a dream> worried about his condition> thinking how much he hates his job> worried about paying his father’s debts> parents and sister worried for him> Gregor trying to get out of bed> meantime manager comes to inquire> listening to his changed voice parents and sister are worried.
Also we learnt about metaphors and how to frame and relate them to yourself as a person. Metaphor is basically a figure of speech or can be called a poetic device , which can be used to co-relate o rcompare someones qualities to an object or thing. some of them are:
- Emotional: I ain’t afraid of my tears as they are rain on earth.
- Short tempered: she carries her anger around with her as fire with rage.
- Moody: her mood swings as the waves of a stormy sea.
- Stress eater: when stressed she can eat a horse.
- Sharp observer: She has an Eagles eye for uniqueness
